[MEN] Mühle Glashütte S.A.R. Rescue-Timer [M1-41-03-KB]

The S.A.R (Search and Rescue) Timer is Muehle-Glashuette’s iconic misson watch.

Developed in conjunction with the North Sea Search and Rescue community,  the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer underwent long-term testing on no less than 56 rescue cruisers belonging to the Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger [German society for shipwreck/distress rescues].  The results of the tests and feedback allowed Muehle to fine-tune certain aspects of the timepiece such as its case design, the thickness of the sapphire crystal and the resilience of the movement to withstand the tough North Sea conditions which lead the development of a robust, reliable and functional piece of equipment.

This is an extraordinarily strong watch which can be used for many purposes, more so on account of its 4-mm-thick sapphire glass and especially impact-resistant automatic movement.
